Kitenge is the traditional African fabric and designs, it’s vibrant and energetic and I am slightly obsessed with it! In an effort to be culturally appreciative and wear their designs as a foreigner, I usually aim to make “western styles”, and I wear them all over the world! This was my second year working with Yimba, and each time I send the women on my gorilla trekking group trip their story and info, which results in a lot of sales and beautiful outfits! I also order all of my welcome bags and gifts from them! I was able to sketch some ideas I had for outfits, then pick out my kitenge fabric from abroad, measure myself (with a string and a ruler on my computer screen lol) then I sent it all to them and they made it for me by the time I arrived! I went to visit them in person to do a fitting and get adjustments, plus so I could see where they work and share it with you all to help continue to support them! ![]() This is a wonderful NGO that supports many underprivileged women in Uganda by teaching them how to sew and create clothing! Where all of the colorful outfits I wore in Africa recently are from: by ! I mean…that would be the most obvious way to run for presidentĬheck out all of the places Captain Obvious ran through in each state, and keep up with his campaign and updates on Twitter by following and #ObviousPresident! It’s definitely keeping me out of trouble by keeping me entertained instead of posting my opinion about the candidates! He basically makes sarcastic remarks about everything, which is a much more entertaining way to keep up with the actual presidential race. Aside from it being cool to see someone running across every state in the U.S., his videos and tweets are actually really funny too. If you’re a bit annoyed or frustrated with the actual presidential race like I am, Captain Obvious’ satirical take on it will definitely brighten you up. See what I did there? LOL get it? Man – date? He’s already ran through all 50 states including Washington DC (obviously), and has documented the whole thing including how he used to book hotels “on the run”. He’s obviously not really running for president, but he is providing obvious yet relevant commentary about the race which is pretty entertaining. ![]() ![]() Captain Obvious is a real person (kind of) and he’s taking the presidential race very seriously by running for president in the most obvious way by literally running across the United States.
